Sleep Spa Orthopedic Dog Bed

2" thick high-density, medical grade foam base and bolsters (sides), with a removable, lambswool-covered memory foam pillow for extra comfort.

The removable micro-velvet cover is water, dirt and bacteria resistant and fully machine washable. Available in 3 attractive neutral colors/designs to blend with any decor.

Pro's

• Cozy and comfortable


• Offers good support from quality foam


• Dogs who want to 'lean' or rest their head on pillows/arm-rests love this style


• Attractive design

Con's

• XL measures only 32" x 28" (outer dimensions), so a too-tight fit for large dogs and may be difficult for bigger dogs who have joint or mobility problems or are elderly.


• Durability is adequate for adult dogs, but it's not chew-resistant or particularly tough so not a great choice for puppies or 'diggers'

Orthopedic Dog Bed Review's Opinion...

This is a great choice for small or medium sized dogs, especially those that love to 'cuddle up tight', but it's a bit of a tight fit for large breeds. Overall a good quality orthopedic dog bed in the medium price range.

Cesar Millan Microtec Gel Fill Orthopedic Napper

Cesar Millan's Microtec Gel Fill Orthopedic Napper is an orthopedic dog bed which uses a combination of an orthopedic foam pad and an orthopedic gel 'topper' which provides great support and a comfortable sleeping spot.

The zippered, removable cover is made from a special, patented, Microtec fabric which is super-soft, supple and breathable and is fully machine-washable.

It also has a non-skid bottom to keep the whole bed in one place, even on tile or hardwood flooring. This is a boon for dogs who are elderly, stiff or have mobility problems.

To add a little extra protection for the foam and gel, there's an inner cover that's also zippered, removable and washable.

Best suited for dogs up to about 55lbs (maybe a bit bigger if they like to sleep curled up).

Tends to create a bit of 'static shock' to begin with, particularly in cold or dry climates. But this improves after the covers have been washed a couple of times.

The gel pad warms up well in response to the dog's body heat which helps soothe tired, achy joints... but if your dog doesn't like to get hot, or it's summertime, he may find it a bit too warm in this bed.

Pro's

• Soft, thick, comfortable with good support for medium sized dogs


• Very competitively priced and offers good value for money


• Non-skid bottom makes it a good choice if you have wood or tile floors
• Only available in one color, blue (but it is an attractive shade!)

Con's

• Fabric isn't ultra-durable, bed 'diggers' could tear it without too much effort


• Only available in one size - 29" x 39". Suits medium sized dogs best, and a tight-fit for larger breeds


• Can get a bit too warm at times

Good orthopedic dog bed for smaller to medium sized breeds. Firm support, easy to clean, great value for money. Works well on hardwood or tile floors.

CPC Ortho Sleeper Large Comfort Couch

If your dog loves sleeping on the sofa, this bed provides a sofa of his very own and gives you the chance to reclaim yours! Available in 3 sizes, with the biggest being and an excellent choice for large breeds.. or two canine siblings who like to snuggle together.

The base is 2" medical grade memory foam which gives good support, and has a zippered, fully removable and machine washable cover made from plush microfiber velvet available in 5 neutral colors to suit most decor.

The removable cushion has a reversible cover, one side is matching microfiber velvet, the other Berber fleece. The cushion cover is not removable but can be spot cleaned.

Because of it's size and big 'cushy' bolsters, this is a super-comfy bed that's fairly robust.

Pro's

• Roomy and very comfortable


• Attractive design that looks like 'furniture' available in several colors


• Available in 3 sizes, the largest measures 48" x 69" and is usually roomy enough for large and X-large breeds, or two (or more) smaller dogs sleeping together.

Con's

• Larger sizes can be difficult to move from room to room


• Generally provides good support, but if you have a dog with arthritis or joint problems who is X-large or heavy, you may need a bed with more, dense, memory foam.


• Removable cushion is not machine washable, so needs to be protected from urine leakage etc.

Orthopedic Dog Bed Reviews Opinion...

A big, comfy orthopedic dog bed that fits even large breeds and provides good support for most dogs. Attractive design, good color choices and reasonably practical in terms of cleaning. A good, mid-priced bed that works for most sizes/breeds.

Memory foam dog beds are the ultimate orthopedic dog beds, and there are a few manufacturers who are ahead of the pack when it comes to producing quality memory foam pet beds.
